Girl, 11 is an entertaining and gripping thriller which will be a hit for all true crime podcast fanatics. Within the pages we follow Elle Castillo on her true crime podcast, Justice Delayed, in which she concentrates on the infamous serial killer TCK who still remains at large.
The format is set up with a mix of recordings from the podcast, monologues from Elle and flashbacks from TCK's childhood. The alternating POV's and timelines really worked to keep me interested and I wanted to begin a deep dive googling this imaginary killer.
At times I did find myself rolling my eyes at the characterisation of one or two of the characters, some moments were a little far-fetched and at times Elle can be a frustrating person to support but overall I was invested to find out the truth.
I switched between both the book and the audiobook and really found the audiobook brought the true crime podcast aspect to life.
Dark and thrilling, sure to to be of interest to true crime podcast fans.
