Hot, Hot, and Hotter
I LOVED this book. Holly Wix is an up and coming country singer that meets up with a hot, alpha, dirty talking billionaire Creighton Karas. Their chemistry was instant and hot and I didn’t want the book to end at all. And Meghan March…what a cliffhanger…if I didn’t know the next book would be out soon, I would definitely have some choice words.
Meghan March is a new author for me and now I can’t wait to read more of her books. She knows how to build the chemistry between the characters. Based on the brief blurb, I wondered how I was going to like Creighton…but never fear…I definitely did.

I hate books where the story is spit up in multiple books so that you're forced to buy/download the next part

At ~200 pages this is more of a novella than a novel but generally I liked it. The plot is very thin and there is a flash red alert for a possessive alpha male to the nth degree. The book revels in the trait along with the typical BS that accompanies it. Thankfully, chapters are short enough and the POV changes between the H and h prevented me from bring out my Frying Pan of Doom(TM) – aka the weapon of choice when interacting with romance characters who are too dumb to exist – to make their acquittance.

The hero was a very over the top – sentences like “I feel the need to beat [my chest] like fucking King Kong” – didn't help. There were so many OTT sentiments like this that so I did wonder if he had been dropped on his head as a child perhaps. Eventually I decided that I was thinking too much and I should just accept this silliness for what it was – smut with a little bit of story and a guy crazy for "his" girl for no discernable reason.

Surprisingly the sex is not as graphic as I was expecting from the blurb – again due to the short length, but be forwarded, the smut escalates in the later chapters as our intrepid Holly finds her inner goddess. There was probably an angle to keep some of the 'fun' for future books. And speaking of future books, the ending was a definite cash grab. Frankly, there wasn’t enough plot to pad one book that a trilogy seems much. Ah well, I will probably read it sometime or the other. the abrupt ending without any real understanding that the plot would extend to a trilogy, lost this book a star and made it highly average. I've read better but then again, I've read a lot worse as well.

SpoilerI am so happy that Holly decks our hero at one point in Chapter 15. Doesn’t stop his stupid orders but at least it’s shown to be a character flaw and not sexy and cool. Points for that ... I liked she challenged him on his domineering attitude even if she gave up in a hot minute later she . I know its a novel but sometimes compression of such incidents make the protest seem more like a fuss than genuine.
