I could not get into this at all - I tried - I would take a break and try again - I would wait until I was starving for reading, and I still could not get through this - it was worse than trying to drink mud - for all of you that love this, I am sorry, but I could not get even to the half way point ... my apologies OSC -

I wanted to like the book. I was supposed to like the book. but I didn't. Best part for me was the excerpt from "The Lost Gate" at the back of the book... a book that I am now tearing through.

read this as a kid, so it's kinda nostalgic. it's a good enough and interesting book for sure, definitely a really cool premise that I'm unsure I've ever seen elsewhere. but I can't say that I'm aching to recommend it to anyone.

This book really holds up. I hope the last couple books do, as they were written after Card's writing motivations changed.
