I don’t know if it’s just me trying to get back into physically reading and ebook reading, but for some reason this writing just didn’t seem to flow for me. It was a super quick read, but the writing felt… stilted? That said, I’m so glad I finally got around to reading it. It was nice to be back in this world with these characters and seeing Thomas’ POV during some points in the books. I wouldn’t say this is even remotely necessary to read, but I’m still glad I did.

“I longed to touch her. First her mind, then her heart, and, finally her body. I wished to own every inch of space between us and fill it with each emotion I’d ever suppressed or pretended away. I wanted to strip my soul bare for only her to see and then do the same with my clothing, giving her everything I had of me. Scars and all.”

Becoming the Dark Prince is a collection of chapters from Thomas Cresswell that take place before, during and after the events of Escaping from Houdini. It is no secret that I was disappointed by the storyline in the third book. Disappointed enough that I needed to take a break and regroup before beginning the final book in the series, Capturing the Devil.

However, that was before I discovered and devoured this novella told from Thomas Creswell’s perspective. If these scenes had been included in the third instalment, it absolutely would have saved it for me. I think the original story suffered greatly without these pages.

If you are also reading this series, you must include this novella in your reading list {& thank me later} enjoy!

“The kind of love I crave isn’t cruel or possessive. Do not expect me to act either way. I will never beg or use subversive tactics to win your heart. I will warn it because you choose to give it to me of your own free will, or I won’t have it at all. I will never manipulate you. No one should. And if they do? They aren’t worth your time.”

I feel like this was written to placate fans who got upset after Houdini. Unpopular opinion but I liked Mephistipheles. He was charismatic and proved to be the kick to Thomas's but that was needed. We have one book left and that boy needs to declare himself and his intentions. We got stuff to do and I want to see a wedding lol!

Thomas Cresswell is an angel and he deserves the world.

Also confirmed he is 6'1.

A lovely glimpse into Thomas’s POV and some sweet moments. Eager for CTD.
