Generally a great book. I was scared of a book with a male lead, almost only men characters and just one woman all written by ofc a man and how it would turn out but actually I loved reading this book. James Dashner has no hesitation when it comes to discussing vulnerability, fear and sometimes just weakness. Through this book he broke the barrier between how men "should" be and act and how they really are.

Loved the sincerity in which this book was written.

Minho is my favourite. If I learn that you killed him off in the 4th or 5th book just like you did those 2 characters that I loved deeply and watched die in the movies, Dashner, I'm going to be mad.

I. LOVED. THIS. SERIES. The only thing I will say, though, is that the first couple of chapters were a little bit slow, but once you get past those, it's GREAT. And, I really never read books that don't have at least some amount of romance in it, but this book was really good! Even though it had a little bit of it, it wasn't like it was terrible because it was barely there. I think it was a little bit refreshing, maybe, to read a book that was mainly focused just on the adventure side of it, rather than it being split between adventure and romance. But, either way, it was really good, so you should 100% read it!

This book out of the main three is definitely my favorite. I read these books before I watched the movies. I had a friend tell me that if you watch the movies before you read the books it’s not as enjoyable. Personally, if you enjoy books like the Hunger Games, the Divergent series, or dystopian future books in general then this is 100% a yes to read.

This series is close to my heart. Middle school me was not really to interested in books (not counting manga) and this series changed that. I reread it a few years ago when the fever code came out and it  was still good but had its issues.

I would recommend this book for people who either want an easy series to digest with a few twists in the story or for middle-high school students who are interested into getting into reading or just want a cool sci-fi book to read.

If I could make a comp to this series it would be if the hunger games but more geared towards a male audience. Great series to check out.

I’ve seen the movies first, and liked them and knew of the book. I wish I read the book first to avoid spoilers. This book was sooo good  I read it really quickly once I got into it. The perfect dystopian ya book and a great start to the series. It looks like this book got me out of a reading slump 👍🏻 (written when I finished it; the middle of the night)

I ended this book and had so many questions. This was mostly a good thing because it makes me want to read the rest of the series. Some parts, I saw the obvious foreshadowing but that's what happens when you're an adult reading YA.
I hated losing Chuck but it seems like a necessary plot device to move into the next book.
