For fans of The Decemberists, the PNW, and fantasy, comes the rich world of the Impassable Wilderness. Colin Meloy tells the story of Prue McKeel, a young girl living in St. John’s. Tasked with babysitting her brother Mac, a normal day at the park turns disastrous when a murder of crows whisk Mac away into the Impassable Wilderness; Prue embarks on a rescue mission with the help of her classmate Curtis, filled with twists and turns, colorful characters, and a race against time.

Wildwood is the first of a three-book series that is fantastic for young and old alike.

It's fun, suspenseful, and will completely change the way you look at everything. It's a great autumn read, although being the extremely long 500+ page book that it is, it'll probably take you longer than just one season to finish.
