Tasked with babysitting her brother Mac, a normal day at the park turns disastrous when a murder of crows whisk Mac away into the Impassable Wilderness; Prue embarks on a rescue mission with the help of her classmate Curtis, filled with twists and turns, colorful characters, and a race against time.

Wildwood is the first of a three-book series that is fantastic for young and old alike.

The characters are all quite likeable, but there is also a big cast so individual development takes a bit of a backseat. The world is definitely the star of the show here and is a facinating blend of gairy-tale like fantasy and very Americana folklore and feel.
