Cognac Villain was exactly what I needed after the last couple of books I have read. I am a SUCKER 🍭 for Mafia/Bratva. Im an even bigger STAN for Kristens writing. She knows what she is doing when she writes these books. And I devour them every single time.

Cora and Ivan are the PERFECT match, even if they don't realize it. They were made for each other in so many ways. Their banter was fantastic. I loved how they sparred, and then were so intimate within their scenes. Even if they didnt realize how intimate some of their conversations didnt seem it.

I enjoyed learning more and more about Cora throughout the story, because you got a better view of who she was as a person. How much she had been through and overcame.

Ivan is a man who has learned hard lessons and is learning that you have to make even harder decisions. With his tenacity, he is determined to do what he feels is best. I love that he is trying so hard, but he isnt willing to change the way he is being loyal to his word.

When the bombshell hits it is astonishing. I was blown away and couldnt comprehend everything.

I fell for Yasha, after he came into the book bevause he was the perfecf buffer for Ivan. Then you being Anya into the mix and she is the person I could feel some kinship towards. Not only because of her demeanor but her fire, and love towards those she deems trustworthy.

And I cannot forget Cora's friend, Jorden, who was her rock through so much even when she didnt realize it. She was there through thick and thin and was able to provide Cora with a different viewpoint.

I received a complimentary copy via the author and Booksprout. All opinions are my own, honest and voluntary.
