If you've read the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and loved them as much as I did, you're probably expecting this series to carry similar appeal. Of course, if you've already read the first Kane Cronicles book, you should already know that it isn't even close to the quality of the Greek series. Now, I'm not saying these are bad, but if you don't know one thing about Egyptian mythology, like me, then you won't be as interested. I think these books tend to drag on a bit, but they do have a few similarites to the Jackson series. An incredibly loyal main character, for example, although this book does have two main characters. Carter and Sadie are quite a bit different from the characters in the Olympian series, but overall, if you enjoyed Percy Jackson, I'd say this book is worth the read.

It is a great, great book. As everyone must expect from Rick Riordan the book is full of magic, not only Egyptian. I loved this one. P.s.: Sorry for my english. =D

Couldn't quite get into the story at first, but after giving it a second chance (another loan at the library), I loved it :) There's just something about an adventure filled with riddles, narrow escapes, and travel all over that gets me every time! I can't wait to see what everyone's fate will be at the next book unfolds. Also these original covers are SO pretty!! As usual, Anubis & Sadie <3
