2.5 stars It was too short for the characters or plot to have any kind of depth, and it was cavity sweet and insta-love. Which is all fine if you're in the mood for that kind of story. I wasn't though. So, you know... meh :/

This story was as sweet and uncomplicated as I've grown to expect from the author, which was exactly what I'd needed when I opened it. I'll be listening to the second installment before long.

Adorable! But I was disappointed in the narration. The narrator didn't distinguish between the two MCs, and sometimes it was difficult to know who was speaking.

Lawson is a gem! A nerdy genius who is great with social cues just makes you swoon! Paired with Jack, the charming and easygoing man who woes like no other. I love that he doesn’t let the past or short tenure of their time get in the way of him jumping at the chance to have something with Lawson.

These two are utterly charming. Their easy nature and cute banter, days spent working side by side, and evenings complete with lovely dates.

And the Tasmanian scenery will lull you in. I love it when NR Walker takes to beautiful lands. She makes you feel like you are there.

I especially enjoyed this as an audiobook. Narrated by Antony Ferguson who was new to me. It was a fantastic experience.

Oh wow what a beautiful story! Sweet and sexy mixed in this little treat of a book!
We meet Jack and Lawson, two different men that have undeniable chemistry.
Each date night they give in more and more to each other as Lawson isn’t in town for much longer.
That is until he makes a brilliant discovery!
Of course when you discover great things, tragic circumstances arise and Lawson doesn’t think before attempting to save the new species.
I’ve never read a book with so much knowledge about Butterflies! It was different and I loved every minute of it!

The last few chapters of this book rescued it for me.

I'd say especially earlier in the story, I found the plot to be exceptionally average. It didn't blow me away in the way I've come to expect from this author. I'm not sure if that's becuase of how niche it was, or whether it was perhaps just a little dull.

The last few chapters were, in my opinion, how the whole book should have been. That would have made it a 5 star read for me.

Lawson and Jack were an interesting combination. It was pretty much an insta-love. I definitely didn't insta-love either of them, but they grew on me as the story went by.

The romance was *very* heavily fueled by sexual attraction, and the sex scenes were aplenty and very well done - but I think they didn't quite have the same pizazz as some of the interactions between some of NR. Walker's other couples. This was perhaps because they got into it very quickly.

A connection did build between them though, and I thought they eventually had some nice chemistry.

Overall, I'd recommend this for the most part.

I hate how she writes a series of short books and not just 1 500 page book
