Katniss fails to drive her own story and the Gale/Peeta thing has overstayed its welcome, but it's still gripping storytelling with a unique main character.

This second installment had me more engrossed in the story of Katniss and everyone in District 12. I love that I've found a book I can openly read with my 11 year old without fear of the content. Though it has become a joke between us that there is a lot of vomiting in these books.
This one gives the characters more depth. Katniss still seems to question everything she sees and hears but it has become an expected part of her personality. I can't wait to read the next one!

Same problems as the first, but with a much slower start and a rushed ending.

I liked this one just as much as the first. The main character Katniss is addicting!
