My next Spooktober read to finished by now. Tidak se-plot twist buku-buku oma Agatha Christie lainnya. Malah terkesan cliche and I don't like Linnet Ridgeway character either. Tipe-tipe orang kaya yang bisa aja berkhianat ke siapapun; termasuk sahabat sendiri.

Just like with Murder on the Orient Express, I tried SO hard to figure it out - took notes, reread practically the whole book. And it turned out my main theory was RIGHT and it was SO deeply satisfying!!!

It has been my goal to read the Hercule Poirot Mysteries in order (and so far I have with 1-11!), but with the release of the new Kenneth Branagh movie, my fiancé told me I had to read it before spoiling it with watching. She’s right of course (and always is). And I’m certainly glad I read it first.

So as of right now I’ve read books 1-11, Hercule Poirot’s Christmas, Hallowe’en Party, and probably 1-2 dozen short stories, and Death on the Nile is definitely far above the others in terms of complexity. There is quite literally over half a dozen crimes committed in this one! I do not have a logical or meticulous mind, so to me it still feels like maybe she’s just pulling facts and clues out of a hat, but damn do I enjoy reading it. Of course all of these mysteries involve crime, so you’re reading a lot of murder, thievery, debauchery, but wow this one in particular was very very dark.

Why does it seem like Hercule can never take a dang vacation? His little grey cells are just too powerful.

"They conceive a certain theory, and everything has to fit into the theory. If one little fact will not fit it, they throw it aside." - Poirot (cough flat earthers cough)

This was the perfect cozy mystery! I love Hercule Poirot and I totally admire and respect him. I swear he knew who it was since the beginning like he had this all figured out and was just stretching it out to keep the suspense. I had my suspicions on everyone at some point in the book. Half of my suspicion was right but I didn't think it was true since that seemed too easy. But this was an addicting book that I devoured, like I've never wanted to stay up all night just to finish a book. The movie for this is going to be chaotic and I'm here for it.
