I really liked this book! It was short, sweet and hot. Jack and Sam were forbidden, you always want what you can't have. After a brief night together they go 8 years without being each other. So my has changed in the 8 years they have been apart, but their feelings for each other are still just as powerful! Secrets come out, and have the power to destroy or complete them. I got so emotional for Sam, she is strong character, she took what life dealt her and went forward. Jack got me all hot and bothered! This book has some seriously hot scenes! I did get a little upset at Jack for the way he initially reacted with the news of the secrets, I think it was a little much but the emotions felt very real. I loved this group of friends, I haven't read the other book in this series but I can't wait to! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Really good

I loved this book! Jack was super swoon-worthy. I'm a little over the main trope that's in this book, but the rest of it was so good, I couldn't take off a star.

this one hit me in the feels…

Samantha and Jacks love story is full of angst, heartache, bad decisions, lies, but also forgiveness, and so much love. I def shed some tears at the end.

I took a break from this author after The Intern (had some issues with that one), I wanted to come back to this author but slowly.

Happy to report I really liked this one.

Narrators were great, I could not put this down!

Lucy was adorable and I had tears in my eyes when her and Jackson were bonding. There was one moment especially when I had to make sure I wasn't around people because I was scared I'd start crying. It hit me in the heart with the sweetness.

Great short story!

jack took my heart, stomped on it, and then put it back together!

okay wow. not that far into the book i knew the secret. i had the gut feeling. but dang did the emotions play out in this one. the beginning was absolutely brutal. jack quite literally took my heart and stomped on it. then when they reconnected things started ti rebuild themselves. i knew that samantha needed to confess her secret, and it was painful to see her try to do it and then back out of it. i loved seeing through her journey how much of a strong woman she is. and i absolutely fell in love with lucy. seeing jacks growth and him take responsibility and apologize for the past made me happy for him. and then also seeing samantha own up made it all come together. their story was so uniquely theirs and i am so obsessed with jack and samantha. love love loved this book!

Samantha and Jack have a complicated past that starts about 8 years prior to the main plot of the book. The two meet when Jack starts working for Samantha’s brother. Despite the rational part of their brains that scream DON’T DO IT, they fall into bed together. Then abruptly, Jack grows a conscience and kicks Samantha to the curb because he doesn’t want to rock the boat with her brother. He cuts ties and Samantha has no choice but to walk away.

Fast forward 8 years, they run into each other again at the super bowl (Did I mention Samantha’s brother plays for the NFL?). Jack is somehow more handsome now and wants to pick up where they left off, but Samantha has way more baggage than he does. Secrets come to light and they’re left to decide, can they forgive each other for past mistakes?

This ones a pretty light and fluffy read. It’s predictable, but not in a bad way. It’s super cute and has a lovely happily ever after. It’s quick. & The interactions between the characters are adorable which made me consistently smile, but the real MVP of the story is Samantha’s brother for just being an all around stand up guy. Three cheers for great support systems!!!

If you like second chances this is a good book to read.
