I’m rather loving this international FBI thriller series from writing team Catherine Coulter and JT Ellison. In this fourth book in the series, Kitsune, “the fox” grand master thief from the first book is back. She’s still stealing highly valuable objects. Except now she sometimes works with the good guys when it aligns with her purposes. Which was a fun dynamic!

The villains in this one (which focused on a search for the Ark of the Covenant and a sci-fi scenario where a machine has been invented that can control the weather and send terrible hurricanes and sandstorms anywhere in the world) were a boy girl set of twins who were super twisted and evil. And of course, Michaela and Nicholas (and the rest of the team) were always a delight. With kidnappings, archaeological digs, and lots of family drama, this one was a wild ride! I thoroughly enjoyed.

The Devil's Triangle is an amazing book! A thriller to the highest degree! The backdrop of this story is written with such imagination that the reader cannot help but want to stay up through the night as I did reading this book through. This is Book 4 in the Brit in the FBI series and I am eagerly looking forward to reading Book 5.

Just as expected. Not sure I should be reading a book that involves decimating Washington DC right now.

Could be a fun fast read... if you go in to it thinking more along the sci fi/fantasy genre and can ignore some factual/ historical mistakes.

The book opens with Kitsune "The Fox" stealing the "Staff of Moses." She overhears her employers arguing right before they try to kill her. When they don't succeed in that, they manage to somehow not only manage to discover her true identity, they are able to kidnap her super elite soldier husband. So she contacts Nicholas Drummond and Michaela Caine for help.
They bring the Covert Eyes team to Eruope and discover that Kitsune's clients, the Koaths - brother and sister, are planning to bring the world to its knees by controlling the weather. They are descended from Moses himself and are therefore able to use his staff to cause mass destruction.
I have generally enjoyed this series but this book felt like it was jumping the shark. Slightly outlandish storylines have become cartoonish in their leaps from logic. And the villains... ufda. They just are not well-developed. We get glimpses of some depth but mostly Ajax and Cassandra are fairly one dimensional.
I really do wish we could get a better glimpse at Kitsune as she seems like an amazing character who, despite her propensity toward thievery (she is called "the thief" something like a-billionty times in this book), is so far fairly likable.
