This was a book I really expected to like, but unfortunately I just didn't get it. I felt like the ideas were there but the execution was poor and often had a hard time following. This may have been compounded by listening to the audiobook instead of reading the ebook/physical book. I did like the characters and the story though.

Exceptionally well-written. There are no words to describe the journey that this masterpiece takes you on.

I can tell this is a beautiful and beautifully written book but I don’t think I’m in the headspace and have the context to enjoy this book the way I’d like to. I’d like to revisit this when I have more time and space to get really immersed in the reading experience.

Ugh. This book hit me on so many levels. Poor Estha and Rahel. But seriously, fuck you, Baby Kochamma.

Deadly boring!
Hated all the metaphors. Didn’t feel empathetic towards the characters.
I listened to it on audio and just kept drifting off. There was nothing pulling me into this story. One of the most difficult audio books I’ve ever listened to.
