Ridiculously clever and a boatload of fun. I love how Grabenstein has crafted an entertaining story for all types of readers that stresses the importance of books and libraries as well as all of the information hidden within them without getting heavy-handed. I enjoyed trying my hand at the various puzzles alongside the challenge participants, and was tickled that Grabenstein included a bonus one at the end for his readers. I look forward to reading more books in this series and seeing what other tricks Mr. Lemoncello has up his sleeve!

I read this with my 9 year old son. He loved solving the puzzles in the book as we went. A fun book that showcases libraries. Recommended for ages 7-10.

I actually liked this book:) While I was reading this book, I learned the importance of working as a team. As the group of Kyle, Miguel, Sierra, and Akimi did, they teamed up to escape the library of Mr. Lemoncello. While escaping the library, they need Logic, critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork. The setting of this book is Alexandriaville, Ohio and the place kind of exists but it changed a few words.

I liked a few of the characters and the book also mentions a list of books(which I like) and there are also quotes from it. It was enjoyable, fun, and exciting at the same time. And I was planning to read the next book of it which is Mr. Lemoncello's Library Olympics

It was okay. Main character was too perfect. Yeah, started out acting like he didn't care about school and yeah he disrespected family property, but through out the game he seemed like he was one of those "too good to be true" characters. At least when it comes to teams and people. Extremely forgiving and wants everyone on his team. Thought some of the book forced characters out of their personalities and were bent the way the author wanted them. At times the book dragged. Was nice when we got to some action.

This is a cute nod to Willy Wonka with a healthy dose of mystery and puzzles. I love the setting - modern library.

I had high hopes for this book...being a librarian and a gamer. It did not live up to my expectations. The games were all roll and move - nothing interesting in the way any of them worked. I had hoped that the author might have actually played some of the more modern board games that require skill and thought. Instead, he created an adventure sort of like Jumanji where holograms and other scientific inventions interact with the kids to give out clues and puzzles.

The characters were okay...the story was okay...the ending was okay...but nothing really grabbed me and made me want to read more about them. When it was over I was ready to set it aside. A good book makes me sad to see it end.

SCHOOL LIBRARIAN REVIEW:
I would recommend this book to any school library. Kids will love it. It's got puzzles that are not too hard - but will definitely challenge them. It's got silly parts and tense parts...but nothing that is too scary. This is a good book for kids who don't like to read - because it may seem like something their teachers wouldn't want them to read. Elementary, middle or high school = buy it, but only for free reading, nothing really educational in there.
