The universe they are building with these books is fantastic. I love that. All of our characters are older. There’s nothing wrong with the main characters being 18 but there’s something refreshing about them being 30.

Cute low pressure fantasy romance. Loved these two main characters and their journey to find love. Wish we got happily ever after in an epilogue or something

A good fantasy ruined by the corny love story - just like the first book of the series. I shall read the third of the series because I want to know what happens to Galen.

Someone nailed it in their review. Istvhan is lobotomised in this story. He was the single most interesting character in the first book. Here, he's stripped of his personality. What a shame!

And T Kingfisher must have a type cause Stephen, Istvhan, and Fenris from Nettle Bone are almost indistinguishable.

Three stars because gnoles, werebears, and Clara is infinitely more interesting than Grace.
