Steamy Shifters - I Love Wolves!

Well, well, well...this was an action packed, sexy book. Three wolf shifters and a sassy woman? Yes please! I can't decide on a favourite shifter. I mean Bishop has a total serial killer vibe and Kade is a total beast. Then there's Draven, alpha supreme. They've all got such different personalities, but I'm not sure any one of them on their own is a perfect match for Jemma. I'm wondering how this series will end...will she end up in her happily ever after with all three wolves?

This book was so good. After finishing the first book in the series (Fawn), I was so worried! I downloaded this book and started reading at three in the morning. When I finally collapsed into slumber, I dreamt about Jemma and the Wolves (possible band name?) all the while. Stressful! Fawn killed me. I think I got about 2 hours of sleep and then started Fury reading again. If that's not high praise for a book, then I don't know what it is...madness maybe?

This whole reverse harem genre is pretty new to me, and though I'm not sure I could navigate that kind of a situation, I'm having fun reading about it! That there are wolf shifters as a part of this whole experience is over the top. My fave supe for sure.

I loved the crazy violence. Hated Grace. Totally wished I was an alpha wolf shifter. My family doesn't understand me.

I can't wait to see what happens in the next book, though it's gonna be a while before it's out. I'm invested though. It's on my tbr list!

Perfect follow up to Fawn. We get to go inside our 3 Alphas minds and get to see just how far they are willing to go to get their Fawn back.
Fury is much darker and more gritty then Fawn and I must say I am here for it. The writing is out of this world and so descriptive. I felt every bit of pain that Jemma went through. My emotions where all over the place. I seriously could have stabbed Draven a few times. Draven’s fight within himself to actually let himself care and feel is gut wrenching no matter how strong he is on the outside you get those very small moments where you see the light shine through. Jemma’s character growth and strength is a sight to see. In Fawn she had me just seeing her as a victim and then there’s this change In her in Fury Where she takes hold of things she has had to go through since the loss of her parents and keeps pushing and keep fighting and out comes this strong woman who gives as good as she gets! Let’s no forget about all the Alpha hotness in Draven, Bishop and Kade. These three are straight fire. That picnic scene will be talked about forever! I need Fray STAT!

I absolutely loved this. Was 100% where I wanted it to go. I'm madly in love with the characters and the trauma and the falling apart and putting back together again. This will have your heart racing with the passion but also the absolute despair that is found in honey-colored eyes.

Uhmmm, yes! 4.5!

Fury is a wonderful continuation of the Blackfang Barons series. We left off with Jemma being captured after the Baron compound is raided. We thought it was just a jealous, possessive ex (ugh, Bryan) - BUT, with a twist, we unravel more of the mysterious plot.

With her capture, Jemma endures torment at the hands of Terrion (could be triggering for some (but no rape)). However, she endures and eventually makes her way out - with NO help from our Alphas or some otherworldly magic! It was so reliving to have a strong female lead that's actually strong, despite shit circumstances. Is she hurt? Yes. Is she broken? Kinda. Does that stop her? No! I really enjoy her character development so far. She's not perfect, but she's not annoying or vapid either. She's learning, adapting, and honestly, is handling some very stressful things as well as can be expected. I particularly appreciate how the author wrote her post-torture panic/triggers as genuine, frustrating, but overcomable.

Our reverse harem romance continues as her relationships blossom more. Draven's pretty resistant, but Bishop and Kade help her heal and find a home is a world where she has nothing in the aftermath of all she's gone through. They put aside their possessive, Alpha ways to give her space - and support - to fight and overcome some of her own fears. Hm, at least until she's ready to embrace their Alpha ways in some steamy situations ;) Again, I like that the author has written our heroes as flawed. They tend to rush to anger, but they aren't all power. They aren't all knowing. They don't control Jemma, and they live in a world with enemies at every corner. In our shifter/mafia world, it's realistic.

Add this mysterious Markus fellow and Jemma's hidden abilities (? if that's what they are), it also branches out the world building. We are left with a slight cliffhanger, with Draven and Jemma off to do... something!

I eagerly await Book 3!
(tbh this is some much better than All the Pretty Monsters, I wish it had more hype in the RH sphere)

Fury by Elaina Jadin and Marie Robinson is the second book in the Blackfang Baron’s world. After the epic and shocking cliffhanger in Fawn, you are drawn straight back into the story from Draven’s POV. Once again the authors have written the chapters from the different characters POV’s with each characters thoughts, emotions and observations displayed. Draven’s are by far my favourite, there’s something about his character that just drew me deep into the storyline from the way he thinks and acts. Jemma’s chapters were heartbreaking at times. Bishop’s are always calculated. And Kade...well his were more open and showed a different side to him.

There’s so much happening in this story and once again the emotions are high as you read through Fury and you won’t be able to put the book down. As we saw in Fawn, Jemma was slowly being allowed to come to be the woman she was, and in Fury that continues and I’m hoping in Fray she’ll be one of the strongest FMC’s I’ve read.

I’ll be honest, if you read my review last time for Fawn you know that dark romance isn’t my go to genre, so there are some scenes in this book which I had to skim over, simply because they were too dark for me and I’m an emotional reader. Sometimes it is good to step out of your comfort zone and experience a new world of reading, which is what happened for me. So if you love dark and mafia romances, and the first book - Fawn, then you’ll definitely want to continue the Blackfang Baron’s series with Fury. I’m looking forward to continuing with this series with book 3 - Fray and will patiently wait...maybe not too patiently.

Fury picks up just about right after Fawn, so the cliffhanger is cleared up pretty quickly. The beginning of the book is pretty dark, but it lightens up. Fury is not nearly as dark as Fawn, at least not, in my opinion.
While Fawn told a lot of Jemma’s background, Fury starts to explore the guys' background, especially Bishop’s and Draven’s. Kade’s background is hinted at, but we don’t learn anything. We learn a lot more about the guys due to the increase of their POV chapters. There are many more in this book which I really enjoyed. They were also very well written, and I had no trouble discerning whose POV the chapter was being told from. It also gave you insight into how they feel about Jemma, and though, for the most part, it is pretty clear the affirmation helped.
From a story perspective, this book did seem a little like a filler. The beginning is eventful, but this book was more about character development than story development. Not to say that I didn’t enjoy it, but if you’re looking for a lot of forward plot progression, you may be disappointed.
I can’t wait for the next book to come out. While this book didn’t end on quite the cliffhanger that the first one did, there are many unanswered questions.

A great continuation of this series. The author does an amazing job explaining trauma and PTSD in this sequel. I'm looking forward to the third book.
