I stayed up until 2 am on a work night to finish this! And that was the ending? I was so mad at Clara for pulling me in all these directions and I bought into it all! Poor Maisie asking for her father 😞 This book was tragic but enthralling so I got less sleep while Clara tried to accept the way things were.

Really good story. Meh ending. Story of a married couple who recently had their second child. The husband is killed in a car accident and the story is told in a back and forth manner to retell the entire story.

I read this bc I LOVED Local Woman Missing. This was not to that level at all. Every single character in this book was mostly annoying. The rage I felt towards Maisie through the entire book was off the charts.

So many characters left with loose ends.

Was waiting for a huge twist that never came.

Sooo disappointed.

Imagine losing your husband in a tragic car accident. As if that isn’t bad enough for Clara, things happen that lead her to believe the accident wasn’t an “accident” after all. The book explores alternating perspectives as Clara is investigating and grieving over her husband’s death and Nick’s perspective from the last few months before his death. I always love when books tell things from different points of view because it allows the story to unfold in two different ways and it makes it that much more suspenseful. I really liked this book and the storyline it took.

Couldn't get through it all. Very slow build up to nothing. I'd pass on this one.
