The first story in this is absolutely awful, but as it's a short story collection I decided to keep reading hoping that the rest would be better. Unfortunately not, there are a lot of really bad stories in this (plus lots of racism/homophobia/anti-semitism) but there were a couple good ones which is why it gets two stars instead of one.
The editing in this is non-existent and the book is riddled with spelling errors that should have been caught. Things like "backl instead of back" and "care instead of car", and the translation in the first story was rather poor with very stilted sentences. This wasn't the case in all of them, but it was quite frequent throughout the collection. The final one kept referring to untranslatable expressions and honestly due to the quality of the translations I couldn't tell if that was the translator or the author.
I read this as part of my Around the World challenge but honestly I disliked this collection so much that I'll need to find another book for Romania as I don't want to include this on my list.
