I love Philippa Gregory though I did not like what happened to the sister and the ending was typical but the story and details were lively and Meridon's adventure was interesting.

I liked this one the best of the Wideacre trilogy. The story was quite different from what I expected, which was a good change from the previous two books. I read it out of obligation to finish the series but I'm glad I did, as the story involved Meridon's childhood with the Romany, her teenage time with a travelling equestrian show, and the struggles as she tried to reconcile her upbringing with her newfound landed-gentry status.

A nice end to a frustrating trilogy, but disappointing because the ending was just to perfect.

Liked this one better than the second in the trilogy but felt it really suffered after they got to WideAcre. The grand adventure of the circus life was much more fun to read about. In the end I think it redeemed itself and was a fun little read.

Contrived, boring, slow. This series should have ended with book #2, which was already not very good...

Meridon was an interesting and easy read as I managed to get through the whole book within a short period of time. However with Meridon being the final book in the Wideacre triology, I must admit I was a tad disappointed.
The book began with potential, detailing Meridon's adventurous gypsy life with her abusive step-father, her beautiful yet wild sister Dandy and the circus master she happened to meet by luck. However following her departure from the circus, I lost belief in her character.
Her choices didn't seem real and the chemistry she shared with Will Tyacke wasn't as electrifying as Philippa Gregory's other fictitious character relationships in this trilogy. I was hoping for so much more.

This was a good book to finish the trilogy with. I did find it took me longer to read than the previous books. I enjoyed reading about Meridon more than Sarah...but the ending was exciting making this novel well worth a read!
