Absolute classic. Issue is, the jokes don’t hold up for new kids! It’s difficult when the youngsters have to have terms and names for things explained to them.

But I will forever love the moment that Amelia puts the (boy or girl) chicken in lederhosen.

Being admonished to Don't Drink and Don't Drink and Drive always drives me crazy. It's not that I'm precise in language but lack of precision in others is certainly something I notice. So even though Amelia Bedelia is over the top, it still kind of works. People should say what they mean, even if the English language doesn't help them with that. With good enough art.

Thinking about Amelia Bedelia lately, both classic and new books. Love them both! Funny and sweet character. Like Amelia Bedelia, I’m eventually going to need someone to just set things straight and tell me what they want to tell me, otherwise I’ll confuse myself trying to figure it all out. Like when she was told to change the towels and instead of switching a different set for the bathroom, she took some scissors and cut those green towels to pieces. Oh, Amelia. She means well but sometimes she just needs some help with communication.
