The Red Tent is a beautiful read for anyone looking to be crushed but also uplifted. Despite not being a woman, I have learnt so much about womanhood from this book. Specifically,  I now have a deeper understanding of how their stories have been oppressed throughout history. 
I hope one day to feel the contentment she found.

I really enjoyed this book! It was a complex, rambling read. The sheer amount of characters and names was slightly overwhelming, but I loved the narration and pacing. The writing was really good!

There's a fair amount of violence in this book. There are also many, many depictions of childbirth, stillbirth, and maternal mortality. Some are graphic/explicit, some are not.
