Well-written, the twists kept me interested but mixed feelings about the ending.

Twisty and keeps me wanting to read. Ending I thought may occur. Overall enjoyed.

Taryn Fisher is an auto buy author for me. I generally love her writting. She does a great job of navigating dark material. This one missed the mark for me a bit. It felt like the shell of a Fisher novel that had been hollowed out to make it more palatable for the masses. Possibly the traditional publishing, or perhaps just trying one too many twists to sate the voracious appetite of all the new readers on a thriller kick. I'm not quite sure, I just know this read incomplete and rushed. I'm still a Fisher fan though, and I plan to keep reading.

I would give it a four stars for the plot & ending, but three stars for enjoyability. The writing style was not my favorite, and the woman feeling bad for herself so she puts up with a man trope is not my favorite, but the mystery aspect was really riveting!

Somewhere between 2 and 3 stars. It seems most readers enjoyed this one way more than I did!

I thought it was entertaining and it kept me reading, however I felt the plot was a bit over the top. The story also had some tropes I'm not a fan of, so I understand why it worked for other but not really for me!
