Ok, I was born a christian and spent my whole life just getting the gist of the bible through mass and other "special occasions". Through my life even though my faith has its highs and lows, one thing is constant. My questioning of many dogmas and undeniable truths. And after watching a couple of bible classes from Standford I decided it was time for me to create my own opinion and read the whole thing myself. I've found an app that had this one year plan, reading a little bit each day, so it was perfect.
The summary of my opinion is that the bible is just what someone would expect: just a bunch of books tied together. More than half of the bible seems to have none inspiration or spiritual content whatsoever. They are just reports of kings, tribes and things that happened. The old testament is full of the same Israel betrays God, Gods gets upset, Israel suffers, all goes well until the next time.
The new testament is full of strange things also, slavery is considered OK and expected, inconsistencies and so forth.
Don't get me wrong my faith is still up but the bible, as church itself is just another man made construct. If you place your faith in it you're going to have a bad time. Most of what people get from the bible seems to be cherry picked and interpreted at will.
Keep on the good path, do unto other what you expect to do unto you and things will go fine =]

A Bíblia começa de forma bem romântica. Primeiro Deus cria uma casa linda, melhor do que uma mansão e, depois, Ele cria Adão e Eva para morarem nela. A casa pertence a eles.
Entretanto, a desobediência de Adão e Eva por terem comido do fruto do conhecimento do bem e do mal fez com que o domínio desta casa passasse a satanás. Desde lá, ele vem “pintando e bordando” com a humanidade.
Mas o homem precisa desesperadamente de Deus. Sabe aquele vazio que nada completa? Exato, você tem um buraco do tamanho de Deus dentro de você. O homem busca a Deus sem saber.
Depois de um tempo, vem uma era de Lei. Abra o Antigo Testamento na sua Bíblia e você entenderá o que estou dizendo. Faça isso, não faça aquilo, não coma isso, não coma aquilo e assim por diante.
A Lei te mostra que você não presta. Hahaha... Eu não presto, nem você, somos falhos porque TODOS pecaram. A Lei te mostra que você precisa de um salvador.
E é aí que Jesus entra. O Filho de Deus se faz carne e vem à Terra para te salvar. Lembra de tudo o que você não conseguia cumprir da Lei? Pois é, Jesus cumpriu.
Vivemos na era da Graça... Abra o seu NOVO TESTAMENTO e você também compreenderá o que estou dizendo.
O que a Lei não pôde fazer por você, Jesus fez. Jesus é a personificação da palavra “Graça”. Efésios 2:8-9 diz:
Porque pela GRAÇA de Deus vocês são salvos por meio da fé. Isso não vem de vocês, mas é um presente dado por Deus. A salvação não é um resultado dos esforços de vocês; portanto, ninguém pode se orgulhar de tê-la.
Mude a palavra "graça" no versículo acima por Jesus e você terá:
Porque por Jesus vocês são salvos.
E a Lei? Gálatas 5:4 diz:
Vocês que procuram ser justificados pela Lei, separaram-se de Cristo; caíram da graça.
Cair da graça NÃO tem graça! Estejamos debaixo da graça através da Fé. Quer me agradar? Só é me dar um chocolate branco. Quer agradar a Deus? Tenha Fé em Jesus.
Meu resumo da Bíblia poderia ser feito em somente uma palavra: JESUS!

Many people say it has "plot holes" but if you just do some research you will realize it doesn't and that is remarkable!

not worth the trauma tbh. loved the homoerotic subtext tho, David and Jonathan are my ideal now.
