Religious messaging felt a bit heavy handed in this one, but it was interesting to see firestar come into his own as a leader.

The classic ending to the first arc. Reading about Scourge for the first time back in the day must've been crazy for many fans and I understand how his fanon depictions became the way they are. He's such a little edgelord <3

Also,
Tigerstar's death stays horrifying

I started reading Warriors, as it was a recommendation from a friend. I found this to be a great ending to the first series, and while there were some errors as names being mixed up and typos, I loved it nonetheless. I was surprised by the direction the plot took, but I enjoyed it.

love how literally nothing is explained lol. like i know theres a whole prequel series and some standalones that hopefully explain why the clans have to be separate and stuff but its real annoying reading them when you dont have that knowledge cause they could absolutely live in harmony.

ive complained that firehearts whole thing with spottedleaf felt hella forced and its just even more so in this one.  the whole
“she died before we could confess our feelings” and “im glad she approves of sandstorm cause now i dont have to worry about betraying her” like sir????????? you interacted with her maybe like twice when she was alive??? theres no feelings there wtf are you talking about????? and shes a medicine cat so she isnt even allowed to be with him on the immensely small off chance that she did like him back????
also firehearts mommy issues really just pop off like every time he mentions her ngl

imo the ending felt real anticlimactic? like yea the
battle with bloodclan
was cool, but everything after felt kinda meh.

the redeeming factor was the fact that we got more ravenpaw content and i love that lil man.

i listened to the audiobook by MacLeod Andrews and he actually meows sometimes and it is actually the funniest thing in existence, 10/10 would highly recommend

The first arc ends on a high note! This book was super good! Still not free of the systematic problems in the series that keep all but the first book from being five stars, but there are some iconic moments that still hold up today, like the scene Firestar, Graystripe, and Ravenpaw witness in RiverClan’s territory and Firestar’s first encounter with Scourge.
Firestar believing the entire past two books that his destiny is to defeat Tigerstar one-on-one, only to witness Tigerstar bleed out nine times at the paws of Scourge is such a cultural reset. Damn, that scene still holds up. Truly legendary moment.
