I can’t never and will never get enough of Fruits Basket. It is such a lively yet psychological story and a lot of people don’t see that part coming. Fruits baskets changed so many aspects I had in my life, it made me reflect in so many things. I don’t know where I would be if I hadn’t induced this media.

I don't even know how many times I've read this - my very favorite manga - series . . . reading along with the new anime and loving every single page, as always. seriously, every single page is absolutely perfect. I loved re-reading the interview with Laura Bailey, in which she says she was sad when the anime ended and if there was a chance to finish it, she would.

and of course, she is. there can be only one Tohru. only one Kyo. only one Yuki. only one Shigure.

*rereading for comparisons between the manga, original anime series, and current anime series

Update: Here's my full review! http://www.bookishrealmreviews.com/2016/04/manga-review-fruits-basket-vol-1-2-by.html

This was so freaking cute! I absolutely loved how the Chinese Zodiac has been incorporated into the main storyline. It was a light read and easy to get through. I think what was most interesting was the manner in which the Sohma boys all have different personalities based on their Zodiac affiliation. Tohru is amazingly cute. She's just a bundle of sweetness and I think she's going to end up being a really good fit for the family. I cannot wait to pick up volume 2 which is already on reserve at the library.

Initial thoughts:

1. I felt so nostalgic reading this manga again!
2. Toru is such an adorable, although naive, character. Love her!
3. Shigure and also Hanajima and Uotani are hilarious!
4. The fights between Yuki and Kyo seem to never end.
5. Amazing artwork!
