A quick, fun read that went along with my research of the Middle Ages for my newest novel.

Pretty interesting and informative. The kids enjoyed it. It does tend to skip around a bit, which threw us off sometimes, as we were doing as a read-aloud bedtime story. But this did a good job of giving a feel for Medieval life, or at least this segment of it.

Excellent illustrations, infornative and interesting story and afterword. I know a bit more about castles and different roles at that time. Excellent ffir history beginners.

Valuable aid to Keegan completeness (which strives to obtain as complete a picture of a human's life and times as possible, named for John Keegan who deployed completeness to devastating effect in his Face of Battle analyses of three well-documented battles).

This book is part of my seventh grade curriculum. I feel like it is more suited to third or fourth grade. It's a good novel to teach point of view from.
