*I received a free copy of Unforgiven. This has in no way influenced my voluntary review which is honest and unbiased.*

Zanetti definitely knows how to write a very tight, creepy psychological thriller that still manages to include extremely hot romance! Jethro and Gemma were both fantastic characters to get to know, and it was also so good to be back with Angus Force and the team. The fact that Gemma had a little girl just made the suspense aspects even stronger.

Love binging a romantic suspense in one sitting! Gemma has just taken on a new job as a professor that a friend helped set her up with. No one knows but she’s actually on the run and in hiding from her ex - he has almost tracked her down a few times and she’s determined to keep herself and her daughter safe. She’s definitely not looking for love or complications.

Jethro is the British philosophy professor who she meets right away and who may make things more complicated. Jethro is trying to give up work on the deep ops team but gets called in when a body is found that has a note written specifically to him.

I really enjoyed the multiple layered stories happening in this one and it’s always fun to see couples from previous stories as you get later into a series.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the advance reading copy.

Loved it! Great story! Cover was cute and I’m not a huge fan of Ops books but this was really great.

What did I like? So I liked Gemma’s part of the story on the blurb. Jethro’s story however was really unique and sucked me completely in. I’ve loved books by this author before but it’s been awhile since I picked one up.

Would I recommend or buy? I’m going to go back and read them all! All of the characters were insanely great and I bet they have their own books since this is book five. Five stars from me!

I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left this review!

Unforgiven is the last of the Deep Ops, I am not sure if the author is planning on any more books in the series. But I have a feeling this is the last of the series, but I could be wrong. But I have to say that I absolutely adored this book. It was so fun to see Jethro finally get his book. He has been a character that has intrigued me throughout the whole of the series so I honestly just couldn't get enough of seeing him get his story and how it was delivered by Rebecca Zanetti. This one will definitely keep you at the edge of your seat, and I really loved the heroine that he ends up with, who is on the run herself as she has an abusive ex and trying to protect their daughter from him.

We do get some flashbacks in this one, but honestly, they didn't bother me. Sometimes flashblacks can bother me, but Rebecca Zanetti really fleshed them out so well in this one that it felt so natural to the story itself and it didn't overwhelm the present plot so it worked for me. She is one of the few authors that can write these effectively. Unforgiven though is a story that digs deep into Jethro's past and some unresolved issues with his brother and his past as a MI-6 agent. So it kinda had a bit of a James Bond feel to the story especially as I did this in audiobook. I do think for these audiobooks, to not be distracted by other things. The narration is well done, but due to the plot building, you will miss things, if you are are doing things that distract you from the story. The romance itself was endearing. Jethro definitely makes sure to fight for his lady and doesn't let her run away from what they have, no matter who their enemy is. Really adored his commitment to her and her daughter. And the little girl, man she had my heart and she had ALL the men wrapped around her little finger.

Overall I found Unforgiven to be a super gem of a read that only Zanetti can deliver! If you are a fan of romantic suspense or Zanetti, then I highly recommend this book and this series.

Interesting plot but the characters didn't feel particularly real.

I haven't read many of the author's stories in the past, but this one was just amazing.

Give me suspenseful stories filled with a huge romance plot and I’m done for the night! I just can't get enough of it.

And Zanetti has such a gift to keep you invested and craving more and more of these stories each time.

Jethro is not your typical hero. He's dangerous and when he's found with blood on his hands, you can make your own assumptions. Throughout the book, he proves himself to be an honest man, one that will never ask for help from his friends or colleagues because he actually has a bigger heart and doesn't want to get them killed or in trouble. Protection for the ones he cares is a must in his game.

Gemma is a single mother, but that doesn't mean she can't redo her life and while she's still keeping her distance, their chemistry and attraction are undeniable from the moment they get to know each other better.

Unforgiven is one of the best romantic suspense story that I’ve ever read. I couldn't stop turning the pages faster and faster to get my adrenaline shot from this story.

Very grateful to the publisher for my review copy.
