4.25🌟This book is on my 24 in 24 and I had no memory of what it was going to be about and I really enjoyed it! Dark Romantasy with a really interesting plot and world. The banter is fantastic and the writing is smart!  Diving into book 2 of this completed duology.

Everything in this book is ICK
I truly cannot understand how it has so many good reviews. I wanted to DNF about 25% but kept pushing, mostly because it was too late to return on Audible.

Pros:
The world and premise had so much promise.

Cons:
Bad writing. The dialogue is repetitive and basic AF
Almost no character development
The FMC and MMC have no relationship development. Even their instant lust makes no sense
MMC is SO unlikeable!
-He speaks like an ass to his supposed "best friend", bossy, angry and threatening for no reason.
-He knows he doesn't want his former lover anymore but still uses her to try to make FMC jealous and then just tells her to get out (dick move, not respectable)
-He makes FMC get on her knees to clean his toilet and then starts trying to kiss her neck 🀒 NOT SEXY
-discovers FMC is his "eternal mate" and his response is to make her his personal assistant and demand she wear different tight skirts for him every day
-FMC is seriously injured and he intentionally withholds healing medicine from her because he doesn't want her well enough to leave of her own free will
-MMC just randomly starts calling her "Baby" when there has been no emotional connection/feelings between them. Comes off creepy, not hot.

Everything about the plot is juvenile and ridiculous. A primary conflict is between FMC and the MMC's Ex, petty jealousy and both of them basing their status on who he wants to fuck that day πŸ™„πŸ˜’ Spicy scenes were all just flat and gross because of how the characters are portrayed.

Biggest book let down I've had in a long time
