Dead Rinker (Seattle Scorpians Book 3)
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

"She owned me from the moment she turned up at the game wearing my name and number, and she's owned me ever since."

"You're going to make me fall in love with you, aren't you?"

Ruth outdid herself this time! This is by far my favorite book in this series. Talk about a man down bad? Jenson "JJ" Jones is a man who is literally obsessed, and I do mean OBSESSED, with our favorite "black-cat" fmc, Kate, and I was absolutely 100% here for it! He is like Jon Morgan (Book 1 mmc) but on steroids. Also, can we talk about the things that come out of his mouth, both sweet and spicy 🥵? I was here for that, too! Kate is so prickly, fierce, and strong, and I actually see a lot of myself within her. So focused on her goals and perfection. I found her character to be very relatable.

I love a messy story, and this gave us all the mess. A lot of times, we deal with opposites attract in romance novels. Well, here, I love that we got two people who literally share the same personality type. While it may hinder them being able to progress their relationship in the beginning, I believe it allowed them to eventually come to understand each other better than most by the end. Both JJ and Kate had things to work through from their past, and I absolutely loved watching them support each other in dealing with those issues. I loved watching their relationship grow throughout this book, and I truly feel that Ruth made the transition from enemies to friends to lovers so seamlessly here.

I also loved getting to see all our favorite characters from books 1 and 2! I love when authors allow us to see former characters' stories continue.

Thank you Ruth Stilling and Wordsmith Publicity!
