Non-spoiler thoughts:
You guysssssssss! I freaking love this world so much!

I first fell in love with it in Found at Sea, Kellan and Fletcher's story but daaaaamn did The Nymph Prince take that love and turned it into some kind of an obsession.

READ IT! But read Found at Sea first, THEN READ IT!!!! If you like fantasy and MM romance and...wait for it; MERMEN! Then, definitely check out this whole series!

I'm beyond thrilled to see where Jaclyn Osborn takes this series next. She's created an amazing world and such a loveable cast of characters, I never want to leave!!!

Spoiler-filled thoughts aka Marge fangirls for 10 minutes straight:

It took me no more than a handful of pages to fall for Lorcan. That prince, ugh, there was something about his sassy and bold personality that called to me. He found his way into my heart and never let go. He intrigued me in Found at Sea and then he completely won me over in this one. Besides the romance with Alek, his friendship with Troy was one of my favorite relationship in the book. The two of them together were just so wholesome and cute.

We get a lot of Alek in Found at Sea and I already loved that boy in the first book, so with him it wasn't so much falling for him because I was already there but more so seeing him grow into a man. He's so endearing and brave and selfless. He loves and protects those he cares about fiercely and he and Lorcan together are so freaking adorable I can barely handle it. Plus, they were fiya together, just saying. *coughs* that chain though *coughs*

I've always loved the fated mates trope, and even though Alek and Lorcan discover their feelings early on in the book because of it, I really liked that their road to happiness was bumpy. Just because you're fated mates doesn't mean it solves all your commitment and/or trust issues, doesn't mean everything will be easy between the two characters. I wouldn't call this book a slow burn per say because it IS love at first sight; but I'd say Jaclyn Osborn doesn't make it easy for them either.

Some new characters were introduced in this book, and out of all of them, I think the star of the show for me was Troy. THAT PRECIOUS BOY. MUST PROTECT, MUST CHERISH AND LOVE. MUST PROTECT, YOU HEAR ME?!?!?!? Such a cinnamon roll, you guys. I love him with his long hair full of flowers, fancy clothes, purple eyes and sparkly eyelashes. He's flamboyant and self-assured, but he's also been hurt in the past and he's trying so hard to overcome his fears, to trust people again. GAH! I just want to hold him tight and never let go. MuSt pRoTeCt!!!!!!!

Malik!!!! Malik is another character we met in this book. He has me so very intrigued. The story about his husband, gah, mah heart! Malik is the big, silent and fiercely protective guard just can't help but love. *Le happy sigh*. I've lost count of the number of instances in the Nymph Prince where it was mentioned how Malik looks at Cinamon Roll Troy and I was sitting here like "I SHIP IT! I SHIP IT SO HARD!!!!"

Then we also have Reif. Gaaaaahhhh! Reif is like the character I didn't know I wanted but so glad I got. At first he was kinda just there. Sorry Reif, i love ya man but it's true, okay? But THEN, as the story unfolded and we got bits and pieces of information about him... I started to eye him more and more and now I'm lowkey dying for his story. Hello, assassin??? Sign me up! His love story with the elf prince? DOUBLE SIGN ME UP! ME NEEDS! I'm mighty intrigued. I need answers!!!!! He hot, yo! I'll never say no to a hot assassin.

Anyway, this review is not at all a review and more so a spoiler-filled fangirling fest but oh well, sometimes, you just gotta fangirl a little, okay? Okay. 🤗

it’s hard to put into words right now how much i liked this story, but i really did.

the author’s world building is absolutely incredible and the relationships she explores between these characters are so heartfelt, i felt their love for each other deeply. i love the sense of wonder that is in all her stories, this fantasy that has a whole kingdom of merfolk but then other myths are coming alive as well!! such as the bond between nymphs & mages, and the darkness that followed due to those who dabbled with dark magic.

i liked how alek & lorcan both had their own troubles to deal with, and how even as those troubles split them apart, they ultimately came back together as one force. their romance was sweet, as bright as the sun that calls to the nymph in fletcher’s story from book one, and i felt for them in moments of great strife but also soft comfort.

the guards in this story, malik & reif, were a solid presence who protect both alek & lorcan when danger seeks them but they also have stories in their pasts that influence their feelings in the present. troy, also, lorcan’s best friend, was a welcome joy who added some comfort to a story that felt larger than life, and i look forward to maybe possibly getting to seek even more of it in the next installment of this series.

this was such an amazing reading experience, hence the high rating, and i love how the author does such a good job with building tension because even when the two main leads of her stories seem to have found peace with each other by the end of their books, the plot is still unrolling to reveal even more twists & turns and i’m hyped.

Great fantasy series, book 2

I am enjoying this series, it's so well written and the mixture of myth and fantasy works beautifully. I hope there is a book 3 coming.
