Wow! This is a fantastic book. Hearing how God truly transformed her life is amazing. God took a horrendous event in her life and used it to turn her and those around her to Him. This is a story of God’s grace and redemption. This is a story of how God can lead a person in the most awful situation and use each step to point towards Himself. A must read.

Incredible story of perseverance and faith throughout almost unimaginable suffering. Especially touching to discover how her journey impacts her family of origin, decades after her initial traumas. A story of looking for the light, taking opportunities, and believing in hope.

This is Kim Phuc’s account of when she was hit with napalm fire in her village in Vietnam, and her subsequent recovery both physically and spiritually. Her story is remarkable - she has a long list of the people that directly or indirectly hurt her (napalm, forced Communist propaganda, stealing money). Kim found peace and forgiveness through her conversion to Christianity and her faith in Jesus. Her personal path to forgiveness is the most remarkable as it really has led her to lead a fulfilling and happy life despite the horrors she experienced in her childhood and she credits her faith again and again. She remains humble and mostly optimistic throughout her journey, and is an interesting read not only from an historical perspective but also understanding how someone can overcome incredible challenges. Inspiring story, emphasis on faith/Christianity.

This is one of the best books I’ve read in 2017. Not only did I love reading what happened to Kim in the aftermath of the bombing, but I just loved her story. How she went from a suicidal girl to one who travels the world giving talks on her experience and encouraging others is fascinating.

I have had this one from Tyndale for FOREVER and finally got to it... blown away by this story. I knew this iconic photo of the girl fleeing the napalm attacks in Vietnam, but had no idea about her story, and it is POWERFUL. This memoir was beautifully written and an incredibly moving story of forgiveness, faith, family, and healing... I couldn’t put it down and am in awe of her bravery and graciousness toward her enemies. Phew, what a great read.

Let’s just say Jesus was jammed down the throat of the readers and it overshadowed other book- worthy time.
