I enjoyed reading these poems, but I believe most of the beauty and meaning was lost in translation.

Very glad I read this- free on JStor for anyone who is interested btw! My mandarin isn't very good, but the poems aren't difficult to dissect, and when read alongside the English translation, it creates two very different angles from which to view them from. Each poem is a work of art.
