Nikolai's wife was brutally murdered by the Koskovich family nearly a decade ago, and since then he has dedicated all his time into getting revenge. His best friend married Svetlana Koskovich in order to gain some leverage over the family and on the way back from a meeting with them, Nikolai finds that something unexpected followed him home.

Natalia is Ivanov's daughter and she's young and beautiful, but what Nikolai doesn't know is that his best friend and wife have kept her drugged for the past five years in order to marry her off to his wife's brother. She ran to him because he was the only person she could think of to help her, and when he finds out, boy, is their hell to pay.

Because Nikolai cannot deny the way he is attracted to Natalia. No matter how young she is, she is the only person who has made him feel since his wife died. From the moment she showed up at his house, Natalia has been a temptation and the protectiveness that comes with her being in his home will make him do anything to keep her safe.

My thoughts:
Age gap!!! Daddy trope!!! Mafia men!!! And loads and loads of spicy scenes!! I. Am. In. Love!! This was such a sexy novella and though Cobb tends to write more dark horror romance, she absolutely KILLED this book. I loved the plot, the writing, the flow of the story! The characters were perfect, Natalia is the sweetest and Nikolai... Gosh, what is it with men named Nikolai??? 🥵 I absolutely loved it so much and I hated that it ended! The suspense was high and OMGosh THAT CLAIMING SCENE! Who doesn't love a little exhibitionism before a murder? Because I sure do! I literally cannot wait for what comes next 😍

This is a super quick novella but still with all the suspense and feels for the mafia trope. The age gap is big so if you like that this is perfect. The author does a great job of giving the reader what they need in such a short time. And as much as I love some of the characters the anger I felt towards some of them was there tenfold. Great job of giving all the feels in such a short read!

This is the first book in a multi-author series of dark romance novellas about the Petrov Mafia family. Nikolai is the head of the family and this book sets the scene for the upcoming books. The main tropes in this one was age gap, best friends daughter and daddy/little girl, which are some of my favourite. Despite it being a novella there is a lot packed in including some really hot spice! It will be interesting to see how each novella interlinks as we go along. Please check your TW before reading.
