Finally, an enemies to lovers where neither of the characters were reprehensible, toxic, or incompatible. I did like the pace, and I'm not worried about the world building being slow, sounds like Rebecca Ross is building up to give us more details about the world as the ending implies with where the characters landed. Overall, a nice book to turn off your brain and enjoy romantasy.

I really liked the romance between them, but this was NOT enemies to lovers no matter how you spin it.

Felt borderline steampunk/WWII throughout but in an endearing way. Fun blend of magic and technology. Very sweet love story and beautiful prose. The characters have delightful interactions with one another. Starts sad and ends on a cliff hanger.  Love story progresses wildly fast once it gets started (70% of the way through) but not in a smutty way

The world building was a little too flimsy for me, I know that the focus was supposed to be on the love story but still.
Also, some of their decisions made ZERO sense to me and it made me so upset😭😭
