The Echo Wife by Sarah Gailey

This was a completely different kind of story. It's the kind of book I wish I'd read for a book club, because I want to tall about it. Why? How? Do you agree with this choice? That one? What about clone rights? What about science just for the sake of science? Is there anyone to root for in this story or are they all villains? The age old nurture vs. nature. Can you escape your past? All of it is here and yet not here at the same time. All questions, few answers, fewer still any sense that the story waa trying to answer the questions it presents. Just some fiction here, move along. Everything is to advance the plot, don't think too hard. Or maybe that's unfair. Did I enjoy this? No. Am I glad I read it? Absolutely. Would I recommend it? Only if that's what your looking for. This is not a fluff piece by any means. And yet not a thoughtful, measured thing either. You'll be doing the thinking after you read it. Or at least I am.

Fascinating and fast-paced science fiction thriller with a satisfying conclusion.

I thoroughly enjoyed the pragmatic, female protagonist.

an insane premise for a story which makes the book a very intriguing and intoxicating read. makes you think deeply about some odd moral questions and has some good little twists. the main character was hard to relate to and understand at times but it also fit well with the themes of the book sooooo cant blame her

I really enjoyed this book! I liked how complicated the characters were. I could never fully support each character in 100% of their actions, though I think I understood most of them (except Nathan, fuck you Nathan). I thought the ending was good too albeit pretty dark.

I rarely read science fiction so I appreciated the change in genre. The premise was super interesting and I found the science-y portions fascinating. That said, the narrator of this one was super off and boring to me. I can't decide if the book was genuinely slow or if it was just the narrator. Narrator aside, I found a couple of holes in the plot so I wish they had been tied up nicely. Overall an interesting book but it was disappointing that it didn't hit harder.

I really enjoyed this read! Nothing life changing, but quick and fun with some quotes that really hit me.
