The end is here. The final novel has arrived. One last adventure for Oliver, Emalie and Dean. Prepare for the return of a few familiar faces, too.

No doubt this book was clever. A little time travel in there to appease my time travel-loving heart but I was somehow left unsatisfied. This is one of those books that was smart in a way that makes you feel as though you’ve been cheated rather than make you feel as though the characters have cheated the prophecy.

What I mean was that the book is a little anti climatic. The showdown you get at the end (that’s not a spoiler. If you didn’t expect a showdown then you do not read enough fantasy novels. Read some more!) is not the showdown you expect. And that’s not in a good way. It was good. But not good enough for 5 stars. Not to mention other books in the series outdid this one in terms of cleverness.

Also, I needed more of Oliver and Emalie! I ship them major hard and if you don’t too then what are you doing?!?!? I needed more scenes with them together. Although, hats off to Kevin Emerson for giving us an insight into all the amazing thoughts that Oliver was thinking about Emalie because first off: that fed my ship and second: Oliver was a good, complex character and those are hard to make!

All in all it was a great series though. I’m sad it’s over. I’ll miss Oliver and the gang :(
