This is 108 pages and I read it in 20 minutes so I am not going to include a rating because I don't really have much to base it on.

That being said, I loved this poem/meditation/letter. Its message really resonated with me and the author's passion is really evident throughout. Overall it was a good way to start my day on this Monday-ish Tuesday.

"At sixteen / I thought / I would've made it / By now. / Now / I'm making up / what making it / means."

This four part, long form letter-poem speaks to the readers internal life -- their dreams, passions, goals, aspirations -- be they creative or personal. While targeted at teens as that is where Reynolds' has developed an audience, I find this as something good for teens through adults, especially adults that have creative aspirations that they are working to pursue (part 1 was particularly relateable to this perspective).

An uplifting, introspective, thoughtful start to my new year reading.

Beautiful. Absolutely incredible, and will resonate at any age.

Reynold’s words are a poem, a letter, a gift, so that we all may remember to dream. For Everyone is for all of us,

“the awkward...
the irresponsible...
the deformed...
the squares...
the rebel children,
the wild ones,
the long-shots,
the bad-mouthed,
the side-eyed...
the terribly envied..
the safe...
the jumpers...
the jumpers...
the jumpers.”

I will be purchasing For Everyone for all of my young people in the hopes that they,

“somehow find truth,
comfort,
or anything at all
within this ramble.“

For if they do, then I’ll know that they’ll have it and can,

“keep it close
and use it for firelight
for this
long and often dark
road.”

This is a really really good book with a really really good massage. But. It's so short. I read it and felt like taking on the world, but then because it wasn't really long enough for my brain to process it's like it just evaporated. But I think it's something a lot of people probably need to hear. Also, I think the ebook formatting is probably weird. The layout seemed a little off in places, but I'm betting that's just some bad formatting putting breaks where they weren't.

I want to curl up in these words, share them, and live them.

Jason Reynolds has a beautiful way of words and manner of reflection that inspires deep thought. I listened to this on audiobook and it was a little over twenty minutes. Worth the listen. The kind of book you would want to mark up and underline the parts that resonate deepest.

No rating since I don't like to rate poetry

Very simple and fast to get through on audiobook. With Jason Reynolds narrating it, as usual I really enjoyed this. I got goosebumps at a few parts, and emotional with another.
As always, amazingly written (but what else do we expect coming from Jason Reynolds?).
