Not a bad read, slightly disorganized, but did a good job humanizing the participants and utilizing spoty primary sources.

Interesting read on the life of Jemima and Daniel Boon and how they along with others influenced the settlement of Kentucky and America during the Revolutionary War. I've been to tourist Fort Boonsborough in Kentucky over 40 years ago.... loved the history.

(An audible read for me)
Was not what I expected. I really enjoyed the small portion of the book dedicated to the actual “taking of Jemima.” However the majority of the book reads like a history report on pioneers, specifically the Boone family, during the revolutionary war settling Kentucky.
I learned something new, but felt misled by the title.
