A gorgeously illustrated graphic novel adaptation/prequel to The Labyrinth. I really like how this collected volume follows the events from the movie while at the same time offers a backstory on Jareth the Goblin King. Beautiful.

I love the Labyrinth movie and once I saw that it had a graphic novel series, I bought the first one :)

I loved this beginning to a backstory. I hope it takes it where I think its going to go. Also the art is amazing :) Can't wait to read the next one!

More like 3.5 star rating. But I know I can sometimes be overly critical depending on my mood. I am enjoying the plot, but find that sometimes the writing is a miss. The art is hit or miss with me as well. But overall fun to look at. It’s a delightful read, and I’m able to envision my goblin king’s origin story as a film in my mind... I feel like more would have been better .. more details a longer version of this story perhaps. More Jareth is never a bad thing.

Leaving this review on all three volumes!

What a lovely little series. Some great characters, more information the Labyrinth, and a touching conclusion - with gorgeous art.

I do have a minor quibble with trying to
humanize/redeem Jareth,
but it's not enough to really take away my overall enjoyment of the series.

If you're a big fan of the movie definitely check these out!

A beautiful prequel to the Labyrinth movie!! Well prequel kinda since this is happening both during the movie and in the past. Super interesting history of Jareth!! It’s weird because we know she’s destined to fail as Jareth becomes the goblin king, but I’m curious how this plays out.

A great start to a series and I need the second right now!

Edit: Read volume 2 and now I need 3!! So good and the twist?! Awesome.

Finally a back story on the goblin king and it’s actually really good, I was so scared that a prequel to my favourite childhood story would be terrible but I’m so glad it’s good. the art is amazing and recommend any one who loves the labyrinth or work of Jim Henson to read this
