My first graphic novel and it really delivered, such a short but sweet story looking into the past of two incredible characters Helene and elais I loved this book as it showed the moments where elais starts to realise that his humanity and his spirit is the most important thing and the character of tavvi was a really great addition as he was such a nice guy who is another victim of the empire but who sacrificed himself for scholars. Overall this was so fun but yet heartbreaking and of course like all the stories in the ember world I loved it

idk what i'm doing reading this when i've only read the first two ember books and even then only the first one again recently (so much for rereading to continue the series lol)
