I cannot believe I have not reviewed this book before. Because it is a storytime standby and one that never fails to disappoint.
Even parents laugh. And THAT is the sign of a good book. Kids love the fact that George swallows animals whole ;)

This book was mentioned on social media when someone asked for funny books for young children, so I decided to check it out. Very cute and funny--nice ending!

There was an old woman who swallowed a fly ends badly. But Bark George always seems very positive if a bit silly. I especially the expressiveness of the mama dog. With good enough art and snappy writing.

A simple yet creative book that highlights animal sounds. The ending had me cackling.

George's mom is very frustrated with him because he makes every sound other than the one that a dog should make. Until the vet discovers he has swallowed all the other animals. Very cute story!

Jules Feiffer conveys a lot of humor and emotion with spare drawings in this short tale of a puppy who seems to be having trouble barking the way dogs bark. After an interlude that channels an old lady who swallowed a fly George's troubles seem to be over and his mom is happy. But is everything really as it should be?

I think that toddlers and pre-schoolers both really like this book. The images and colors are all very appealing, and the text, complete with animal sounds, is also really engaging. And it's cute.

I loved all the little twists with this book. And it is a fun play on various animals sounds.
