I really enjoyed this book! The friendships described in this book made me wish that I was part of a Bridge Club.

Started great
I really enjoyed the first 2/3 of this book, maybe even 3/4. But the end was just a little too dramatic and as if the author was trying hard to create a powerful ending. It really wasn’t. But I don’t regret having read the book

I feel like I've been on a very long road trip listening to an incredible narration which at times made me feel as if I was there living what was happening while at other times I was content to listen to what happened, marking the passage of Time.
They say everyone has a story in them and I know that is one of Patricia's mantra's, here she tells the story of 8 women who have an almost otherworldly connection and just as well, because this is all leading them towards the ultimate test of their friendship, to support and assist each other in dealing with a situation completely out of this world.

Patricia Sands originally released this story ten years ago. But she has updated and added content for this anniversary edition. This is a book about a bridge club. But it's about much more than a card game. Eight young women found a common interest. As a result, they have met monthly to play cards over the course of their lives. That's not all they do. They discuss and laugh and discuss some more. We get to meet each of them and sit beside them as they travel their own roads through life. Increasingly, we understand why they depend on the others in the club over almost anyone else to help them through the "SOS" moments they inevitably encounter. If you play bridge, you will enjoy the inserts you will find at the end of some of the chapters where a real-life international bridge expert has dealt a hand and explains the best way to play it. But you don't have to play bridge to thoroughly enjoy this book. At it's heart, it's about the ladies and their profound lifelong friendships with each other. Each personality shines through, so different from one another, but together in everything. I loved this book, but then I love all of Patricia Sands' books. Thank you to her for providing my copy and allowing me the opportunity to review it. Another five star read I can highly recommend.

Oh my.....This was so good. I've been on a cozy mystery kick lately and I saw this recommended somewhere and decided to try it. As I finished it and going through the emotions of the last chapter (boo hoo) I was wondering why I put myself through these books. BUT. It was so good now that I've had time to digest it, it was worth it!! Highly recommended!!!!

I want to know who "she" is in the last chapter, but I don't at the same time. The point of the chapter is to show it can happen to any one of us without warning, but having your friends with you is an absolute must. The author did a fantastic job of writing that last chapter. It had to be hard on her to do it.....but I can't imagine the ending any other way. 5 stars!!!!
