I was hooked on this book from page one. It was definitely more of a legal drama than a romantic suspense. You knew who the villain was from the beginning, there was no mystery, the only question was, what will he do next?
Kenna and Crosby were so perfect for each other. They brought balance to their relationship, while helping each other find that piece they’d been missing. They’d both been hurt in the past and struggled not to judge based on past experiences. Crosby was the adventure Kenna was missing and Kenna was the voice of reason Crosby needed. I loved how they both slowly opened up to each other, it was not a momentary lack of restraint, but a gradual unburdening that came with trust. I loved that they started out as quasi enemies, they seemed to be like oil and water with Crosby poking the bear, so to speak.Â
I found this book to be more emotional than the first book, which surprised me. Kenna had been through so much and losing Harriet and having to fight for what was hers would have broken anyone, but she was so strong. Crosby really broke through her walls and was able to see her like nobody else could. He struggled with his feelings but ultimately was able to let go of his preconceived notion of freedom.Â
I loved the additional story line of Zoe. I thought she brought Crosby and Kenna closer together and helped strengthen the bond that had been growing between them.
This book also felt a little more intimate. While Caelyn and Bell were a part of her story, they were a smaller part. Most of the story really focused on Crosby and Kenna.Â
I loved this story and thought it was the perfect follow up to Reckless Memories. This series is definitely becoming one of my favorites.Â

Kenna and Crosby are both so guarded going in. They've been burned badly in the past and don't want a repeat in their lives.Â
Fate and friends seem to think they are exactly what the other may need. I adored everything. Crosby was such a cinnamon roll. Always there to help Kenna no matter what. He was so goofy and charming, while being serious and protective when necessary. Kenna did all she could to withstand Crosby, but watching her fall for him was beautiful.Â
Loved seeing all the friends throughout the story. I'm a big fan of friend ensembles in romance books. Excited to read the next book.
