Really? Chainsaw battles with cattle prod wielding cult members? I'm maybe a third of the way through this book and have decided that I have better things to do with my time than spend any more of it on this book. Will not be in a hurry to find any others by this team of supposedly outstanding authors.

I LOVED this book! It's been awhile since I read a thriller that I couldn't put down.

It reads like a movie I'd gladly watch.

I had a whole review planned, but really it comes down to this: this was typical, boring, and predictable.

I still want to try the Pendergast series since everyone says it is worlds better than this series. I probably won't be reading further in this series.

Por mucho que lo intenten, Crew no es Pendergast. Estos libros no me aportan nada.

This was a very silly book. I mean I enjoyed reading it, but everything that happens in it is ridiculous. Far more ridiculous than any other Preston and Child book. I mean there is a chainsaw fight, a massive (and predictable) government conspiracy, and a really absurd humvee- armored vehicle chase scene.

This was fun, but I miss the darkness and slightly less predictable nature of the Pendergast novels.

This was slower than slow in the beginning. It picked up about 3/4 of the way through, though. The plot is good.

The plot was interesting, but the fact the author's seemed to really struggle writing women in this book was pretty distracting

I am really loving this new series. I flew through this book in only a couple of days and the twist near the end was perfect!

Gideon’s Corpse takes you on another action-packed ride with Gideon Crew.

The beginning parallels the story of how Gideon’s father died: a man is holding hostages claiming events are not what they seem. It soon turns into a search for a terrorist plot.

While the first half of the book is slower than the first book, it quickly picks up keeping you engaged.

One downside, which was prevalent in Gideon’s Sword as well, is the written female character who is supposedly a “love” interest. She quickly falls in love and only wants to talk about her future with Gideon. They’ve known each other for less than a week, part of which she thought he was a terrorist, and yet all she can think about is being Mrs. Crew. It’s nauseating. Between the two books it makes me believe Preston & Child cannot write a believable female character.

The book ends with another lead in to the next book which I am rather excited about as it sounds like it’s going to really focus on his museum heisting past.
