DNF for borderline-sexual assault and repeated suggestive content. Could have put up with the boring characters and vague plot otherwise. Writing style was good except when the author decided to be excessively vague. Instead of piquing interest, it only frustrated me. Worldbuilding was solid. Aoife was flat; an absolute idiot who just acts like she's following stage directions. Zero emotional reaction to the Upheaval Moment she underwent. (I read another review that said she had a light-bulb moment halfway through and her character did a 180. I didn't get that far.) We're told Declan is cool and a good guy under the armor he's put up to survive, but I didn't actually see this so much as listen to everyone say it. Bonus points for the audiobook: sound quality and narrator were top-notch. Loved the accents.
