This is basically my favourite classic classic children's book.

This is very old fashioned but so delightful! I would have loved this as a child.

This was an extremely enjoyable nostalgia read. Nesbit uses an unusual narrative voice which occasionally breaks the fourth wall and I found that interesting to read as an adult. I don't know how old I was when I last read it but I vividly remembered the characters and all of their little adventures. I definitely want to re-watch the film now as well.

I picked up this book without any expectations, and completely fell in love with it! Edith Nesbit has a wonderful writing style that brings the world of the Railway Children to life. Definitely one of my favourite reads this year (so far).
