Edit: It’s been months since I finished this and man I didn’t do justice to this review. I still remember the characters and main plot points because I developed such deep connection to this series. The romance and the characters were such beautifully written. I liked everything except the ending I just felt like instead of

everyone getting their powers back and Max being powerless. The author should have made everyone not have any powers to showcase that people can be their own hero without any special abilities.Graphic: Grief, War, Gore, Injury/Injury detail, Panic attacks/disorders, Toxic relationship, and Violence

I also found it interesting how Meyer used the same twist for ace and magpie, the actually-not-dead twist. I also wondered if the three twists (evie being magpie, phobia being adrian's creation and ace being evil) were intended from the start of the series. They felt kind of thought of at the last minute but that doesn't diminish their impact! They were great twists! However I didn’t like the ending how everyone got powers, i thought it would be better if no one got their powers back.Graphic: Injury/Injury detail
