Something I didn't like was how short the book is. I also didn't like how there wasn't a section for trigger warnings, to warn about the serious content that is discussed within the book.
I really liked how Bowen used her life experiences coupled with statics about domestic violence, sex trafficking, and sexual assaults to depict what life is like for a lot of Black femmes and Black gender non conforming folks in American currently. So much of this book resonated with me.
I listened to the audiobook for free on Scribd

Sesali Bowen has an amazing way with words. this book is part information & history, part memoir, and all engrossing. once started I could not put it down. highly recommend to those familiar with trap/intersectional feminism & those that are new to either or both. whether you want to learn more about these topics or just want some insight into Bowen's life, read this. it will NOT disappoint.

It was honesty and funny while so full of heart.
Of course, looking at my profile, you can see I’m white and this book isn’t necessarily for me. While I enjoyed this book thoroughly I’m definitely not it’s intended audience and so I’ll be buy and donating a copy to give this book further reach to the people it is for.
But I loved this book so much. I don’t stay up until 6 am for any book
